There’s a grouping in the Enneagram that describes how the types handle problems and conflict. It's called the Harmonic Triad, but more importantly it can be a game-changer for how you understand how you and those around you deal with challenges differently.
Inside this episode, you’ll learn about which group your type is in, and how to apply that knowledge to your business, specifically for creating compelling messaging for your services and products!
Which group did you resonate the most with as far as how you tend to handle challenges and problems? Connect with me over on Instagram or Linkedin and let me know! I always love hearing from you.

This episode is based off a clip that was taken from an Instagram training I did a few weeks ago around how to take what you're learning about the Enneagram and apply it to your business, and in this case, specifically your marketing messaging. So inside of this episode, you'll learn about a grouping inside the Enneagram. And that's just another thing I love about this tool is that there are so many things that you will learn and be helped by when you start to understand the different types, both from yourself and from about others. And in addition to that, the Enneagram also breaks down different groupings of three into different ways. And today we're you're going to hear about one of those groupings. And so you're gonna get some Enneagram education, but then also some ideas for Enneagram application and how to actually use it. So without further ado, enjoy this one. I hope you learned something and get inspired to apply what you're learning. Welcome to another episode of the Enneagram MBA podcast. This is a show for aspiring and growing entrepreneurs and company leaders who are ready to get to know themselves, who are ready to get to know and really understand their clients and their teams, and who are ready to learn how to get known as they package and promote their expertise and services in a way that truly aligns with their personality, motives, and goals. So grab your notebook or open your notes app, and I will see you in class. And that this group, just for your for you Enneagram nerds out there, it doesn't matter what it's called, but it's called the Harmonic Triad. Um it is a grouping that handles um that deals with how you deal with conflict. And so um I'm gonna go through those three groups right now, and then I'm gonna talk about how to use them. So it's gonna be great for some additional self-awareness, but then it's also gonna be um great for how to use it, and in this case, in your marketing messaging. So there's three groups here, three numbers in each group. The first group is this competency group, which just means they when challenges arise, when problems come up, they're gonna think, show me the data, don't give me the drama. That's gonna be our ones, our type threes, and our type fives. A type one is gonna think, listen, we're sensible adults, we can get through this, we can figure something out. Um, a three is gonna think, I'm sure that there is an efficient way to do this. We just have to get to work. And a five is gonna be thinking, I'm sure there's some options here that we have that could that could work. I just need to think about it and I'll I'll get back to you. I need to do some research and get back to you. So they're they're gonna push emotions aside and just look at the data in front of them. The second group is kind of the exact opposite of that, they're the emotional reactivity group, and that is our types four, six, and eight. And they are going to have a big emotional reaction when a problem arises. And for a four, it might be if um their main feeling might be I'm just really sad. I need somebody to listen. Um, not always, but like, but sometimes, um, a lot of times. Um, a six might be thinking, I just I'm really worried. Um, I'm anxious about this. I just need to, I just need to vent. Um, an eight might more likely be thinking, I am really mad, somebody's gonna hear about this, right? And so they have these big emotions and they want others around them to have equally big emotions about them being about the situation that's making them upset. And then the last category is this positive outlook category where twos, sevens, and nines live. They put in on rose-colored glasses, glasses half full, um, everything's gonna be fine, we're it's gonna all gonna work out. So a two is gonna be thinking, listen, it's all fine. I'm here to help. Don't worry, I'm here to help. A seven is gonna be thinking, Okay, yeah, there's a problem maybe, but I'm I'm fine, it's gonna be fine. And a nine, um, sometimes you, you know, tends to to check out, and we're all avoiding in this category the problem, um, and might be thinking, problem, what problem? Even though there's probably a big problem. And so each of them have their advantages, and then each of them, you know, have their disadvantages, or where you might run into more conflict, um, especially, you know, if you're running up against somebody who's very emotional reaction, uh, reactivity category with the the competency category, you can see how that could escalate. So, from a self-awareness perspective, that is how the different types handle conflict. Now, how do you actually use this in your business? Um, great question. So, this is important to think about because ultimately, like, we're human beings, we're not just siloed, it's not like, oh my gosh, even though I'm a type 7, I only look at the world with a positive outlook. No, like there's a little bit of all of these pieces that I'm thinking about. So, to make sure that your marketing message is reaching all kinds of people and really touching all the points inside of us with how we make a decision, um, how we deal with a problem, make sure that these three components are in your marketing message. And what do I mean by that? Um, so for example, um the competency group is gonna be that the well, let me actually, I don't want to start there. I want to start with the emotional reactivity group. So at the end of the day, like you know, most of us, with the exception of maybe some create creatives, some artists, um, maybe you're in the business of selling gifts, at the end of the day, most of us are in the business of solving a problem. And that problem tends to come with us with an emotion. It might be worry, it might be fear, it might be sadness, whatever the emotion. And so making sure as the business owner that you're really describing what that problem is and you're putting in the feelings, you're adding in the emotion. How is somebody feeling right now? How might they feel, you know, later on? And um describe that. Think of that that person going through that problem with a video camera. What would you capture? Okay. Um, the the other side of that I just kind of alluded to is that eventually, you know, you're here to solve a problem. And so you're gonna put that positive outlook, you're gonna cast the vision, you're gonna say, hey, you know what, there is a problem, but I have a solution that might help you. Here are the ways that this can actually work out. Here are ways that I'm going to help guide you through that process, and you know, don't worry, you don't have to stay there forever. So adding in that positive, that that you know, breath of hope, right? It's not hopeless. And then the third component that you want to have in your marketing messaging is those is are the details, the the logistics. You know, how are you gonna solve this problem? How long can I expect it to take? Um, you know, if you're doing a course, it might be like what are the modules called? If you're doing a one-on-one program, you know, how long are we gonna talk on the phone? Um, how long does the program last? Like, what are the testimonials? What are the results that other people have gotten? So infusing that marketing message with those data, with those additional details is going to make a very powerful sales page, an email, a caption, um, even a quick 15-30-second Instagram story where you're talking about your latest offer. Infusing a piece of each of these in there can really make sure that you're talking to all kinds of people, you're hitting on all the types, um, and you're creating a really powerful marketing message. So let me know what other questions you have, either about how to use this inside your marketing messaging, um, or what other questions you have about the Enneagram as specifically, can't talk specifically how to apply it to your life and your business. Before you head out, I wanted to give you one more resource to complement your marketing messaging education from today, and that has to do with sales. So I know that sales can get a bad rep both on the receiving end and the being the one to actually do the selling. And I think a lot of times that comes down to trying to force yourself into a specific strategy that maybe you read about in a book or learned about in a video or was taught in a previous career or or role, and it works really well for that person teaching it, and maybe even for other people, but you know, not everybody is the same, so it makes sense that that specific style wouldn't work for everybody, and so I think a lot of it comes down to understanding um, you know, how you want to show up in sales and what is going to work well for you. And so I have an Enneagram and sales guide at SaraLenco.com forward slash Enneagram and Sales. And this breaks down what your type says about your sales style, um, gives you some strengths to really lean into based on your Enneagram type, and then gives you a heads up where you might need some additional attention to or help kind of navigating around some roadblocks that might come up for you in your own sales style. So that would be a great compliment as you enhance and you know continue to improve your marketing strategy is to bring in the sales component. Again, that's at Sara Linco.com forward slash Enneagram and sales, and your guide can be downloaded there. So thanks for being here, and I can't wait to see you in the next one.
